Beaubleu Paris Vitruve Date and Origine Watches – Review

The Beaubleu Vitruve Date Steel and the Beaubleu Vitruve Origine Cognac!

The French have always been famous for their fashion, their fancy design, and that goes for their watches too! One such example is Beaubleu Paris!

When I first saw these watches, I got goosebumps. They are simply amazing. I have to say that French watch brands are on the rise, with more and more new quality watch companies in France. The main feature of the Beaubleu Paris watch brand is the circular hands instead of the usual and simple straight hands. The name of the brand means „beautiful blue”, but for me it also describes this particular design of the circular hands.

I’ve tried out two watches in the last few weeks and honestly I loved them! The Vitruve Date Steel is a watch with a steel strap. I don’t really like this type of straps, but I have to admit I was positively disappointed. The strap is very comfortable and smooth, it looks special, and it also has a quick release feature. A real quality piece. It has a marked buckle, admittedly this type is a bit more difficult to fasten.

The case is made of steel, with a smooth surface everywhere. Nicely polished and brushed. The case diameter is 39mm, the lug to lug size is 20mm and the thickness is 9,5mm.

It has an open back, where you can see the movement. In a circle you can see the brand name, the model name, the water resistance and the number of pieces in the series. Yes, this is a limited series and this watch is the 280th of the 888!

The movement is a Miyota automatic 9015 with a decorated rotor and with Geneve waves. It has a 42-hour power reserve. One more important thing from the brand: „After several years of experience, we offer a 10-year warranty on this piece, a pledge of confidence in the famous Japanese manufacturer.”

It has a marked crown, a scratchproof sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, and a 30m water resistance. Just enough for a dress watch!

The dial is something special. It is a brushed sandwich dial, at 6’ you can find the date in a circle. All the hour markers are circles, just like the hands. They are in a perfect harmony. The second hand is a big blue circle, the hour and the minute hands are smaller circles with a silver color.  You can find arabic numerals as well, just to make it easier to read the time.

I can absolutely agree with this from Beaubleu paris: „Brutalist architecture influences the Vitruve Date Steel, which seems to be sculpted from a single block of steel.”

The Vitruve Date Steel is assembled in Paris and you can buy it here for 950 US dollars!

The Vitruve Origine Cognac is my favorite piece from Beaubleu paris. This watch has a real vintage feeling. It has a quality handmade leather quick release strap with a marked butterfly clasp, which I personally really like. Only one negative that I can mention here is that the strap could be a little bit longer. The butterfly clasps usually need a longer strap. Although I dont have a big wrist, it’s almost short.

It has the same stainless steel case with the same dimensions. The 39mm is a perfect size for me, I think the watch world needs more watches in this size. It is also a limited piece, this one is the 75th of the 888. It has the same 9015 Miyota movement, but without the date function. I could write the same things again, like 30m water resistance, sapphire crystal etc, but I am low on ink. Just kidding! But we should focus on the dial!

The dial is just phenomenal!  The dial itself has a cognac brown color, with white roman numbers. But you can also find arabic numbers in an inner circle. The circle minute and hour hands are white just like the numbers, and the second hand is orange/brown like the dial. Yes, they are absolutely in a balance! I love it! The dial also has a guilloche pattern, which is beautiful.

You can find the watch here and just for 820 USD you can buy this extraordinary watch!

All in all these are really unique pieces, I love them. The design is mesmerising, the dimensions, the shapes, everything is in a perfect balance. In the end when you add them all together, you get a perfect dress watch. And this is the Beaubleu Paris.
